SEMINAR: INTRODUCTION TO CLOWN
Directed to people interested in having their first approach to Clown Technique.
PROPOSAL:
To be a Clown is a constant attempt to be here, in pure present. It’s a journey through failure, vulnerability, exposition, delight, fragility, ridiculousness and the encounter with the others. It is also about communication, to laugh at oneself and let the others laugh back at us.
The Clown / payaso / claun / or clownish character is present in everyone of us, and this technique helps us to discover it. Clown Technique works with the presence on stage, with projection, with real communication with the public, with rhythm, relaxation, development of imagination, use of objects, improvisation, a good listening to the partners, an acute perception of the moment with your own personal creative material.
The goal of this seminar is to take a first submersion into the Clown Technique and to have your first encounter with your own clown.
OBJECTIVES:
Start working with the technique’s basic concepts.

• Contact with public, with your personal emotions, and with here and now.
• Fragility, failure, and exposition.
• Game and imagination.
• Transformation of impulse into action.
• Availability on stage and projection.
• Improvisation from assignments (solo, duo, trio).

DURATION:
12 hours (2 six-hour-sessions with a break)
Sat., Nov. 29th 2008, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
Sun., Nov. 30th 2008, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It is not possible to attend only one day
